Greg MacNeil is the Managing Partner and Co-Founder of NorthStar Public Affairs, where he advises leading Canadian and international organizations on government relations, public policy, and strategic communications.

With more than twenty years of experience in Canadian politics and public affairs, Greg has built a career helping organizations navigate complex political, regulatory, and reputational challenges. His work has spanned defence and national security, infrastructure, technology, energy, trade, and other highly regulated sectors.

Before co-founding NorthStar, Greg was the head of government relations for one of Canada’s largest defence contractors. During his seven years with the company, he worked at the centre of one of the largest and most complex federal procurement programs in Canadian history, involving tens of billions of dollars in public investment and sustained engagement with senior decision-makers across government. The experience gave him a deep understanding of major government procurement and how business, politics, policy, and public opinion intersect.

Greg’s approach is also informed by extensive experience in Canadian politics. He has worked on numerous federal Liberal and provincial Liberal campaigns and has advised political leaders, businesses, and organizations on strategy, communications, and stakeholder engagement.

Originally from Halifax, Greg lives in Ottawa with his wife and two children.
